1.66 million students across the United States took the SAT in 2013. The much anticipated results from the College Board reported that the national average SAT score remains stagnant at 1498 (out of 2400) and for the fifth year in a row, only 43% of students achieved the SAT benchmark of 1550. Meaning that only 43% of students who took the SAT are prepared for a successful college experience–as determined by the College Board’s benchmark. The stagnant scores have been the subject of much discussion in the education industry and will continue to be as we push for better education programs in the United States.
